The annual Kueh Appreciation Day is back on for one day only on 24 July 2016, Sunday from 10am to 6pm at Singapore’s largest Kitchen Wonderland, ToTT Store at Dunearn. Organised by Slow Food Singapore and in conjunction with Singapore Food Festival, it pays tribute to the traditional kueh or local snacks that can be found in Singapore.
Expect an assortment of delicious savoury and sweet kueh sold by heritage vendors like HarriAnns, Kuehs and Snacks, Mary’s Kafe, Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh, Hainan Xiao Chi and new vendors, Old Seng Choong (established by renowned Pastry Chef Daniel Tay) and Chef Pang’s Hakka Snacks (by none other than Chef Pang Kok Keong of Antoinette fame). Some rare kueh will be specially prepared for the event like the Larp – a rare Hainanese rice dumping – by Hainan Xiao Chi, and a Hakka Vegetable Kueh by Chef Pang’s Hakka Snack.
