A farm in Singapore (yes, you’ve read that correctly!) is looking for individuals, groups and organisations to adopt vegetable beds at their farm located in northwestern Singapore.
Each vegetable bed measures 16 metres x 1.5 metres.
Adopters of the vegetable beds can select the variety of vegetables they want from a list of vegetables that have been “approved” for growing at the farm.
The time taken to grow the salad vegetables, is between 2 weeks to 4 weeks (per yield), depending on which varieties of salad vegetable are chosen.
The seedlings’ potting time takes 7 to 12 days, and the total yield per cycle is between 60 to 80 kg.
If the harvest is staggered, and carefully managed, each weekly harvest should yield 15 to 20 kg.
All vegetables are grown without chemical pesticides and fertilisers, and the vegetable beds will be managed by the farm.
All the adopters have to do is harvest their own vegetables.
Proceeds from the vegetable bed adoption will help to fund the operation of a social cause.
