Outlet Description:

When Colbar (short for Colonial Bar) started operations in 1953, it was serving Western and Asian food to British soldiers and locals. Nowadays, in new surrounds (down a few metres from its original spot) and with artfully created frontage consisting of weathered wooden planks and a metal signage although still sans air-conditioning, it still continues to serve the unpretentious food it always has – such as sausages with eggs, minute steak, hor fun and fried rice – at today’s prices. For patrons who drop in with their pet dog, Colbar will cheerfully serve it a cool drink of water.
