Outlet Description:

A Joo Chiat landmark since 1942, this large bakery fronted by a cheerful and tidy shop offers a plethora of goodies old and new. Most famous is their classic triangular potato karipap: other fillings include chicken, mutton, beef, ‘tetel’ – extra-fatty meat – sardine and egg, and original creations black pepper beef, beef rendang and beef chilli padi. Other notable items: ‘kek bhai’, an Indian-style raisin-studded butter cake once sold in paper wrappings at sarabat stalls; roti kari buns; ‘pau goreng’, small savoury doughnuts; and made-to-order cakes.
