Outlet Description:

Truly a Singaporean gem, this Indian restaurant is an icon on Race Course Road, where it first planted its culinary roots in 1969. What began as a humble stall by the late founder Mr Ayyakkannu is presently a resplendent 6,000 sq ft space beautifully decked out in the style of a typical Chettinad home – a resounding nod to Mr Ayyakkannu’s birthplace. As the pioneer of the fish head curry – an institution in its own right – Muthu’s Curry also consistently draws guests with its wide variety of Southern and Northern Indian fare such as chicken masala, butter chicken, stir-fry Mysore mutton, lamb chops and freshly made breads from the tandoor. Today, Muthu’s Curry remains very much a family-run business with the second generation enthusiastically taking the reins and running a total of three outlets on the island – Suntec City and Dempsey Road being the more recent openings.
