Outlet Description:

These two stalls belong to a family-owned business with a 29-year history. Made to a recipe over a half-century old, these putu piring feature a light, fluffy and fragile shell of double-steamed rice flour, hiding a molten centre of best-quality gula melaka, infused with the aroma of fresh pandan leaf and served with salted grated coconut. For all its elegant, primal simplicity, it’s a difficult dessert to master – but these stalls have certainly done so. Be prepared to queue at peak mealtimes.
